<description>As of May, 2012, the information contained within the article is misleading as VRB Power System’s role only reached a feasibility stage – it never actually produced a practical, working battery – making any contract null and void. In 2007, there was a feasibility study published which examined the economics of installing a flow battery at Sorne Hill. While the economic case for the system was very compelling, the technology was not ready for deployment at that point in time. A new company, REDT (Renewable Energy Dynamics Technology - www.poweringnow.com), has retained the rights to the ESS site at Sorne Hill, and plans to install a utility scale system at some point in the future, subject to funding.

While Sorne Hill Windfarm is no longer under the management of Tapbury Management Limited, it is, however, owned and operated by Bord Gáis Energy.
