Wal-Mart and the Cleantech Group launched a web portal to allow cleantech solution providers to introduce their solutions to Wal-Mart. The portal will soon be available at www.cleantech.com/accelerator/.

Microsoft General Manager of Development and Platform Evangelism Rob Bernard announced a new cleantech visibility program, saying that the company was committed to raising the visibility of cleantech solutions to the hundreds of thousands of independent software vendors it has regular contact with.

In addition, Microsoft said it will encourage energy efficiently-related innovation in its Imagine Cup program, a competition encouraging some 100,000 IT students worldwide to develop green-related software.
