A great way to incentivise work colleagues to reduce their environmental footprint, although I am not sure whether all CEO's would be up for it!
I would pick up though on two issues:
1. have Jerry and David made a commitment to reduce their environmental footprint over the coming year, and are staff able to monitor their success via the intranet?
2. it seems a bit of a paradox that you are paying into a carbon offset scheme when it appears there is more you can do to reduce your overall carbon footprint. I appreciate that staff made much of the savings from their personal lives, but there must of been a significant proportion from Yahoo! activities? If there is more leverage there, then use it, rather than paying you way out of responsibility to reduce your carbon footprint.

What a fun way to get employees involved! A reminder to everyone that creativity and competition bring powerful results. Congrats.

Finally, sumo wrestling gets the respect it deserves! On a more curious note, a question for Christina -- who do you report into at Yahoo? What sort of energy planning does Yahoo undertake and how are you involved?
