Tyson Foods, which provides nearly 25 percent of the total U.S. meat supply and produces an estimated 300 million gallons of animal fat annually, has announced plans to convert its animal byproducts to 75 million gallons of biodiesel and jet fuel annually by 2010, Green Energy Trends reports.

Tyson has invested $75 million of its equity capital in Syntroleum Biofining technology, which is being commercialized in their joint venture, RenewableEnergyWorld.com reports.

Tyson may be planning other biofuel projects. In its CSR report released in April, Tyson announced plans to produce up to 250 million gallons of renewable fuel a year from animal fat within the next three to four years.

Now we’ll have an excuse to inhumanely breed and kill more animals is the Tyson’s of this world have any say in it…must be in the same club as Monsanto and other big business that puts a great spin on trying to help the planet while underlying it all is their profits, control and greed. They could not care less.
