People are jumping off the green band wagon because its turned into an elitist , expensive option. Even the only channel dedicated to going green and helping the earth, is a premium pay channel. You can not even be educated in going green without paying out the nose. Solar , wind, even green products cost so much more than paying the electric or gas bills. Most people who are struggling to pay the bills, mortgage and feed their kids, are not in a position to spend thousands more just to go green. Right now they want to survive. Green, is still in the boom stage, where everyone wants to make the big dollars off of it. In 10 or 15 years when the elitist get tired of it, and the huge profit margins are no longer sought out, then we might have a chance of actually becoming more of a green world. Right now, its a rich persons luxury.

What's missing here is respect for the power of the ordinary..the way personal actions en masse establish the new normal and translate to demand for green products, services and POLICIES. At the end of the day, our power is flexed as consumers, investors and citizens. You and I are the last great hope for the US and the world.
