Symantec Releases First CSR Report

Symantec Corp. released its first Corporate Responsibility Report and announced it has saved more than 300,000 kilowatt hours of energy per month by applying its own green IT technology to enable data center consolidation.

The company also achieved LEED Gold Certification for its Culver City, Calif. campus.

Looking forward, the company is focusing on four key areas that reflect Symantec’s most substantial environmental impacts: green IT, resource conservation, responsible packaging, and Transportation.

Symantec is aiming to reduce its CO2 emissions by 15 percent by 2012, using 2008 as a baseline. The company is also seeking LEED certification for….
