How ICT Can Reduce Carbon Footprints And Enable Sustainable Growth
A BT-sponsored e-forum on sustainability from Gartner’s 2008 ITexpo in Cannes, France. Panelists including Luis Alvarez, President EMEA & Latin America, BTGS, highlighted real-world examples of how ICT can reduce organizations carbon footprint while enabling sustainable growth and providing new business opportunities.
I hope companies are listening; this is a great message. I also hope that companies who want to make a change are leveraging it. The first step to reducing your footprint is to establish your baseline. Publishing a carbon report—and then tracking the results of your reduction efforts—on a public registry is also a great way to showcase your organization’s corporate social responsibility efforts.
