Terminology is a little confusing: "The system is expected to generate about one megawatt of electricity, or enough electricity to power 110 homes annually". Is that one megawatt of instantaneous power? Since solar panels fluctuate in their power output over the course of the day with the sunlight, it is probably better to reference how many Megawatt Hours the solar panels can produce over the course of a day/month/year.
