Over the past fifty years, due to our mechanistic world view and the abundance of cheap fossil fuels, our business processeses have been designed, and managed with an almost complete disregard for nature’s operating instructions.

While economy has been flourishing, we have been forgetting the impact we have had on the Earth herself. Now, it seems the feedback loop is coming back. In our capitalistic pursuits, we have caused massive climate change. While economies are slowing down due to the impact we have created, it is a good time, before it's to late to try to tip the scale back in our favor, to one of balance.

It is heartening to read about the positive support for alternative energy, and a sustainable future. As we teach at the University of Vermont's Global Institute for Sustainability (http://learn.uvm.edu/igs) creating a positive, shared vision of the future is something folks can tap into, and move forward with crafting solutions in a creative, engaging way.
