Pew Center Launches Online Climate TechBook
The Pew Center has released an online resource — called the Climate TechBook — that delivers information on technologies to help reduce greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions across five key sectors: electricity, transportation, industrial, residential and commercial, and agriculture.
Each sector provides an overview of GHG emissions, technology overviews, and fact sheets that provide background information about specific technologies, the current status of the technology, cost information, policy options to promote the technology, and obstacles to further development and deployment.
At launch, the Climate TechBook consists of 15 briefs and fact sheets with new content to be added regularly. Here are links to several fact sheets for low-carbon technologies.
- Carbon capture and storage (CCS)
- Energy storage
- Geothermal energy
- Solar power
- Wind power
- Biodiesel
- Ethanol
- Building Envelope
