What else is it going to be?! We've got to get energy from somewhere and fusion power is still not up to commercial viability. Environmentalists want us to stop using fossil fuels but now we can't build wind turbines? Nothing is perfect. There is always going to be someone or some animal who is negatively affected by whatever we decide to build to produce power. At least the wind turbines don't produce greenhouse gases and runoff and smoke and whatever else the environmentalists were worried about. I'm sorry for the Warbler but at least the harm is very focused and specific and not widespread and not directly to humans like mercury poisoning from coal-fired power plants! So what if someone has to look at the turbines while they are on vacation, at least they can watch their flat-screen TV's and use their computers and charge their I-Phones and I-Pods when they get home without the guilt associated with using power coming from a coal-fired power plant to do all those things. where's the compromise? What do they want us to do - stop using any power? Well, that's not going to happen unless they put everyone out of business because of outrageous regulations. Then people would be out burning the forests to keep warm and eating the Warblers to survive! Think about it! I believe in taking care of the environment too but I also understand that I am here to live and to live in the 21st Century, you've got to use power. If those extreme environmentalists really want to save the Planet and reduce their carbon footprint, they should step to the front of the euthanasia lines - that would be the very best thing they could do to reduce their own carbon footprint.
