Thanks to S. Robinson for:

> “evenaged forest management”

Can Environmentalleader find out where this came from? It guts the protection of old forests, and brings the biologically unsound practice to the forefront.

This must have involved serious work by lobbyists. Who were they and who paid them?

It turns out that there is a real credibility problem with the protocols that will dismay most folks. Embedded in the language is the endorsement and "support" for "evenaged forest management". It turns out that is the timber industry's code word for clearcutting! How can this be? The language was "mysteriously" inserted into the last revision. So the protocols may simply exchange smokestack pollution for clearcutting of the Sierra and other forests. The CCAR Board has been notified of this travesty and hopefully they will rectify it ASAP. To see what clearcutting is doing in the Sierra in California aleady do a Goggle maps satellitte search around Arnold, CA. or do a search on clearcutting+sierra. YOu will be shocked to see what is happening.
