I dont think the recession has any influence on terrestrial and undersea volcanic activity. Cooling oceans (according to the ARGO sea buoy program)and the resultant increased uptake of atmospheric CO2 I would safely say is also not really dependant on the economy! I reckon the billion of tonnes of CO2 from decaying vegetative matter, the release of billions of tonnes of CO2 from weathering rocks also is not really dependent on the economy! Even the grossly corrupt and flawed IPCC in their '4AR' have stated that human-made sources only make up 2.9% of atmospheric CO2.
