Aveeno, Clorox Green Works First to Earn Green Good Housekeeping Seal

Six months after Good Housekeeping announced it would have a “green” seal of approval, the first items have been certified.

The first category to be certified under the Green Good Housekeeping Seal is beauty and cleaning products.

Included in the group of certified items are products from Aveeno, Clorox Green Works and Nature’s Source. The Good Housekeeping Research Institute worked with Brown & Wilmanns Environmental to establish criteria the products.

Here are the products receiving the seal:

Aveeno Soothing Bath Treatment
Physicians Formula’s Organic Wear 100% Natural Origin Tinted Moisturizer
Green Works’ Natural Bathroom Cleaner
Nature’s Source Laundry Stain Remover
Nature’s Source Glass & Surface Cleaner
Nature’s Source All Purpose Cleaner
Nature’s Source Natural Bathroom Cleaner

Before being considered for the green seal, products must also meet the general guidelines for the primary Good Housekeeping Seal.

After that, the products are reviewed for their intensity of water use, energy efficiency in manufacturing and product use, as well as packaging reduction and the brand’s corporate social responsibility measures.
