Yokohama Rubber Cuts GHG Emissions 13.4% in 2008
Yokohama Rubber Group’s greenhouse gas emissions at operations in Japan were 13.4 percent lower in fiscal year (FY) 2008 than in the base year (1990), marking the third year in a row that the company has exceeded the target reduction in emissions set for Japan under the Kyoto Protocol, according to the company’s CSR Report 2009. The company also met its own voluntary target of a 12 percent reduction compared with the base year by 2010, two years ahead of schedule.
