CA Adds Half of All U.S. Grid-Tied Solar in 2009

solaryAt 220 megawatts of grid-tied solar added in 2009, California accounted for nearly half of the 441 MW of such solar added in the U.S., according to the 2009 Solar Industry Year in Review (PDF).

California maintained its monstrous lead in cumulative capacity added thus far, at 1,102 MW, according to the report, which was prepared by the Solar Energy Industries Association.

New Jersey follows far behind at 128 MW added, and Nevada has added 100 MW to date.

New Jersey is making progress, however. Its 57 MW added last year represented an 80 percent increase.
