GREENGUARD announced the launch of a mobile Web site for its Product Guide, a database of low-emitting products certified by the company. The company said the mobile site will aid consumers at the point of sale to verify the “green” claims of products.
GreenSoft Technology Inc., an environmental compliance data and software provider, has announced a new service to help companies comply with a provision of the federal “Dodd-Frank” Wall Street reform legislation that requires publicly traded companies to disclose the sources of so-called “conflict minerals” from the Democratic Republic of the Congo. GreenSoft said it will contact mineral suppliers to fulfill the law’s requirement of an audit performed by an independent third party to verify supply chains.
AVer Information Inc., a provider of video conferencing, digital video and presentation software, announced the opening of a new ISO 9001 and 14001 certified and RoHS compliant world headquarters (pictured left) in Taipei, Taiwan. The 450,000 square foot facility features what the company called the latest in “green manufacturing” standards.
ECOtality, Inc. announced that its Blink Direct Current Fast Charge system has received UL certification as Electric Vehicle Charging Equipment for public and commercial use.
Owens Corning announced that its EcoTouch Insulation has become the first fiberglass insulation to be certified by the Department of Agriculture as a biobased product under the department’s new labeling initiative to identify products with ingredients made from renewable plant materials. The company said the insulation underwent biobased product testing at an accredited laboratory.
Kuwait’s Ministry of Public Works unveiled design plans for a modernized Kuwait International Airport terminal, which will seek LEED Gold certification, The Kuwaiti Times reported.
Biogro, a New Zealand company, became that country’s first certifier of “natural” cosmetic products after receiving its accreditation from France-based Natrue, Cosmetics Design Europe reported. Following its accreditation, Biogro announced its first certification for New Zealand’s Triology skin care products.
Jervis B. Webb Co., a provider of material handling solutions, announced that it has achieved ISO 14001 certification at all of its North American plants and at its corporate headquarters.
