Texas Children’s Hospital Installs Aircuity’s OptiNet
The installation helped the building achieve silver-level LEED-certification and the Silver Building Team Award from Building Design & Construction magazine. OptiNet will provide the hospital with projected annual energy savings of over $221,000, Aircuity says.
Leveraging Aircuity’s demand control ventilation technology, the hospital developed a program designed to enhance the indoor air quality while significantly decreasing energy costs within its research facility, Aircuity says.
Through real-time measurement of the laboratory environment, Aircuity’s OptiNet allows Texas Children’s Hospital to lower and increase ventilation rates if contaminants are sensed, thus providing a safer and more energy efficient operation for their laboratories, Aircuity says.
In September, it emerged the state of Alaska’s Scientific Crime Detection Laboratory was to combine OptiNet with Siemens’ Apogee building automation and laboratory control system to reduce its energy consumption while improving its indoor environmental quality.
