Largest Net-Zero Building in the World
When the Darla Moore School of Business is completed next year, the University of South Carolina will have 1.2 million square feet of green building space. The Moore School will be the largest net-zero building in the world.

Let’s not get ahead of ourselves. We won’t even know until late in 2014 if it’s even a net zero building, let alone the largest in the world. Performance counts, not promises.

Dr. Koman mentions offsets, but doesn’t mention what kind or how many. The term ‘net zero building’ ought to be reserrved for buildings that are really net zero energy on-site. Otherwise, any rich folks and institutions with donors that have deep pockets can claim net zero energy for just about any building.
