Environmental & Energy Executive Moves: Gamesa, UK Green Investment Bank, Cree, SCI
Gamesa: The Spanish wind turbine maker has hired engineer Ignacio Martin as executive chairman. Martin, the former CEO of CIE Automotive, replaces Jorge Calvet, who stepped down last week following poor financial figures. The company reported a first quarter loss of €21 million ($26 million) earlier this month, reports Reuters.
UK Green Investment Bank: Lord Smith of Kelvin and Sir Adrian Montague have been appointed as chair and deputy chair of the newly-launched, publicly-owned UK Green Investment Bank. Smith is current chair of SSE and The Weir Group. Montague is chair of companies including 3i and Anglian Water Group.
Cree: John Kurtzweil has resigned as executive vice president-finance and chief financial officer of the lighting firm. Michael McDevitt has been appointed CFO while Russell Reynolds Associates conducts a search for candidates.
SCIenergy: The energy management products firm has named Steve Gossett Jr. as chief executive officer. Gossett previously served as vice president and chief operating officer of Transcend Equity Development, a company that SCI now owns.
FirstFuel Software: The building energy analytics company has appointed John MacPhee as CFO, Sam Krasnow as VP of regulatory affairs and market development, and Domenic Armano as director of customer solutions.
Wind Energy Services Company: Israel Barajas has been appointed HSE manager at the wind turbine maintenance firm. He brings more than 20 years of experience in the composites industry to the role, including his time at various entities of the Molded Fiber Glass Companies.
Zero Waste Energy: Jeff Draper has been named chief financial officer at the waste-to-energy firm. Draper was part of a team that built the company USA Waste Services, culminating in the acquisition of Waste Management in 1998.
Flexenclosure: Mattias Karlsson is the new vice president in charge of the company’s green power management system E-site. He has led E-site development for the past five years. Based in Dubai, Olof Lindberg is the new vice president of worldwide sales. Mukesh Singh has been hired to lead Flexenclosure’s new subsidiary in India. Singh is formerly head for corporate and business development at Nokia Siemens Networks, and has also worked for Ericsson as business manager. Finally the company recently appointed David King as CEO. King has twelve years’ experience in C-level roles in tech companies in both Europe and the U.S.
