KLM said that it is now serving UTZ Certified coffee on board of all worldwide flights, in a partnership signed with the sustainable farming label. The coffee comes from sustainable coffee farms in Central and South America, UTZ Certified said.
Dr Pepper Snapple Group said that its Plano, Texas, headquarters has earned LEED Gold for Existing Buildings: Operations & Maintenance, for a multi-use facility that including offices, a research and development center and a data center. The building had previously earned an EPA Energy Star rating, for a total reduction in energy use of 3.2 million kWh by the end of 2011, the beverage producer said.
Daintree Networks and Philips said that they will partner to develop advanced wireless lighting control products for commercial buildings through the use of open standards such as ZigBee. Through this agreement, Philips will work with Daintree Networks to ensure that company products can integrate with Daintree’s software and controllers to create an expanded line of networked, wireless control solutions.
Data center and managed ICT services provider Telehouse has earned Carbon Trust Standard accreditation for its three French-based data center facilities; Telehouse Paris Voltaire, Telehouse Paris Jeûneurs and Telehouse Magny-Les-Hameaux. This follows certification for its four London data centers last year, the company said.
LED lighting engineering house Noribachi has announced that it has added more than 100 ultra bright LED light engines, specifically those with 145 to 252 LEDs, to the Design Lights Consortium’s Qualified Products List for solid-state lighting. The Design Lights Consortium qualification process verifies that each qualified product is maximally efficient, well-constructed, and exceeds traditional testing standards, Noribachi said.
Hawkeye Community College in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, has recently certified all of its buildings with the ISO-IEC Guide 65:1996-accredited GreenGuard Certified Cleaning Program, conducted by cleaning provider FBG Service Corporation. The program was designed specifically to address environmental concerns in commercial and educational facilities, and it involves equipment, procedures and specific training on cleaning methods, FBG Service said.
Greengrade–LEED Management Software, a division of Textura Corporation, has added LEED Canada to its available LEED-supported rating systems, the company said.
