Contract Wins: GDF Suez Gas, CB&I, Socket Mobile
GDF Suez Gas has begun supplying Transgas, the largest liquefied natural gas trucking company in the Northeast, with LNG for use as a vehicle fuel (pictured). Transgas is using LNG to fuel 10 new tanker-truck tractors, which are also transporting LNG primarily to gas utilities throughout New England and to commercial-industrial facilities that use LNG.
The EPA has awarded CB&I a $160 million contract to provide environmental remediation services in response to task orders within Region 9 of the EPA, which includes Arizona, Nevada, California, Hawaii, tribal nations and US territories in the Pacific Ocean. CB&I supplies about 50 patented environmental technologies to support the remediation of sites contaminated with hazardous, toxic and radioactive material.
Cambi will supply technology based on its thermal hydrolyses processes in a new wastewater treatment plant in Vigo, Spain. The new plant will be the largest bio-filtration plant in Spain and one of the largest in Europe, the environmental technology firm says.
Zerion Software has selected Socket Mobile barcode scanners for its iForm BioRisk environmental health and safety compliance application for the Apple iPad. The Socket Bluetooth Cordless Hand Scanner (CHS) is a small wireless barcode scanner certified by Apple. With the iForm BioRisk app, technicians use the CHS to scan barcodes on laboratory equipment, chemical containers, hazardous materials and safety supplies to track that they are properly maintained and compliant with industry and government standards.
Benefuel has completed agreements with Flint Hills Resources Renewables to develop biodiesel refineries in the US using Benefuel’s patented Ensel refining technology, which the company says improves profitability while also reducing resource consumption and waste. The joint venture, named Duonix, is actively developing the first project, which is a retrofit of the 50-million-gallon-per-year facility in Beatrice, Neb., which was acquired by FHR out of bankruptcy and has since been transferred to Duonix. FHR will continue to operate the Beatrice plant.
Seair has received a $375,000 purchase order for five of its flow through diffusion towers for a new oil sands project in Alberta. These units will be used for dewatering operations at the first five wells being drilled at the project. The units will treat between 20-450 gallons of water per minute, removing hydrogen sulphide from the water.
Renewable Energy Group has signed a contract manufacturing agreement with Iowa Renewable Energy, Biodiesel Magazine reports. REG is purchasing raw materials for the 30 MMgy multifeedstock plant and marketing biodiesel produced at IRE’s facility.
