Environmental Executive Moves: Union of Concerned Scientists, E-Waste Systems, WateReuse
Union of Concerned Scientists:¬†The advocacy group has named¬†Kenneth L. Kimmell as its new president.¬†Kimmell will leave his post as commissioner of the Massachusetts Department of Environmental Protection to take the job starting in early May.
E-Waste Systems:¬†The¬†electronic waste management company has named¬†Julie¬†Peterson¬†as president,¬†eWaste¬†division;¬†Dan Feeney¬†as senior vice president,¬†eManagement¬†division, and¬†Robert Shaw¬†as director of shareholder relations.
WateReuse:¬†The water-use organization has named¬†Melissa L. Meeker¬†as executive director¬†of both¬†the WateReuse Association and the WateReuse Research Foundation.¬†Immediately prior to joining WateReuse, Meeker served as vice president of business line management for CSA Ocean Services, a marine environmental consulting firm.
Curbside Value Partnership:¬†The nonprofit recycling advocate has named¬†Keefe Harrison¬†as its new executive director. Harrison¬†most recently served as a senior consultant for Resource Recycling Systems.
Intelligent Lifecycle Solutions:¬†Former chief executive of Sims Europe and Sims Recycling Solutions¬†Graham Davy¬†has launched WEEE recycling company ILS. Former¬†Sims Group European operations director¬†Andrew Morgan¬†and former Sims Lifecycle Services director¬†Jon Godfrey¬†are also involved in the new company.
Leggette,¬†Brashears & Graham:¬†The consulting firm¬†has named¬†Dr. John Jansen¬†as senior associate and¬†Ted Powell¬†as senior hydrogeologist.¬†Prior to joining LBG, Jansen was the central region water practice lead and principal for an unnamed national consulting firm. Powell’s former role was as¬†senior hydrogeologist for a civil engineering firm in Wisconsin.
Parsons Brinckerhof:¬†The infrastructure consultant as engineering firm has named¬†Richard Pfingsten¬†as senior supervising environmental scientist at the company’s Baltimore, Md., office. Prior to joining Parsons Brinckerhoff, he was a project manager and senior ecological restoration scientist at a national environmental engineering, science, and technology firm, and a division chief and senior associate at an engineering, environmental, and construction management consulting firm, both of which are based in Maryland.
Andrews Kurth:¬†The law firm has¬†announced that corporate attorney¬†Kevin Trautner¬†has joined the firm‚Äôs Houston office as a partner. The company did not provide details of where Trautner joined from.
Asset Network for Education Worldwide:¬†The furniture reuse nonprofit¬†announce the appointment of Rock Macke to its board of directors. Macke is¬†director of global real estate operations at Resources Global Professionals.
NSF International:¬†The¬†global public health and safety organization, has appointed John D. Graham, Ph.D., to its board of directors. Graham (pictured) is currently dean of the Indiana University School of Public and Environmental Affairs.
Biotechnology Industry Organization:¬†The trade body has¬†named DuPont chair & CEO¬†Ellen Kullman¬†as the recipient of its¬†2014 George Washington Carver Award¬†for innovation in industrial biotechnology.¬†Kullman is the first woman to receive the honor, which has been awarded annually since 2008.
