Union of Concerned Scientists:Â The advocacy group has namedÂ Kenneth L. Kimmell as its new president.Â Kimmell will leave his post as commissioner of the Massachusetts Department of Environmental Protection to take the job starting in early May.
E-Waste Systems:Â TheÂ electronic waste management company has namedÂ JulieÂ PetersonÂ as president,Â eWasteÂ division;Â Dan FeeneyÂ as senior vice president,Â eManagementÂ division, andÂ Robert ShawÂ as director of shareholder relations.
WateReuse:Â The water-use organization has namedÂ Melissa L. MeekerÂ as executive directorÂ of bothÂ the WateReuse Association and the WateReuse Research Foundation.Â Immediately prior to joining WateReuse, Meeker served as vice president of business line management for CSA Ocean Services, a marine environmental consulting firm.
Curbside Value Partnership:Â The nonprofit recycling advocate has namedÂ Keefe HarrisonÂ as its new executive director. HarrisonÂ most recently served as a senior consultant for Resource Recycling Systems.
Intelligent Lifecycle Solutions:Â Former chief executive of Sims Europe and Sims Recycling SolutionsÂ Graham DavyÂ has launched WEEE recycling company ILS. FormerÂ Sims Group European operations directorÂ Andrew MorganÂ and former Sims Lifecycle Services directorÂ Jon GodfreyÂ are also involved in the new company.
Leggette,Â Brashears & Graham:Â The consulting firmÂ has namedÂ Dr. John JansenÂ as senior associate andÂ Ted PowellÂ as senior hydrogeologist.Â Prior to joining LBG, Jansen was the central region water practice lead and principal for an unnamed national consulting firm. Powell’s former role was asÂ senior hydrogeologist for a civil engineering firm in Wisconsin.
Parsons Brinckerhof:Â The infrastructure consultant as engineering firm has namedÂ Richard PfingstenÂ as senior supervising environmental scientist at the company’s Baltimore, Md., office. Prior to joining Parsons Brinckerhoff, he was a project manager and senior ecological restoration scientist at a national environmental engineering, science, and technology firm, and a division chief and senior associate at an engineering, environmental, and construction management consulting firm, both of which are based in Maryland.
Andrews Kurth:Â The law firm hasÂ announced that corporate attorneyÂ Kevin TrautnerÂ has joined the firmâs Houston office as a partner. The company did not provide details of where Trautner joined from.
Asset Network for Education Worldwide:Â The furniture reuse nonprofitÂ announce the appointment of Rock Macke to its board of directors. Macke isÂ director of global real estate operations at Resources Global Professionals.
NSF International:Â TheÂ global public health and safety organization, has appointed John D. Graham, Ph.D., to its board of directors. Graham (pictured) is currently dean of the Indiana University School of Public and Environmental Affairs.
Biotechnology Industry Organization:Â The trade body hasÂ named DuPont chair & CEOÂ Ellen KullmanÂ as the recipient of itsÂ 2014 George Washington Carver AwardÂ for innovation in industrial biotechnology.Â Kullman is the first woman to receive the honor, which has been awarded annually since 2008.
