Environmental Executive Moves: MassBio, GRI, Environ
MassBio: The non-profit organization that represents the Massachusetts biotechnology industry will award Biogen Idec CEO George Scangos (pictured) with the Henri A. Termeer Innovation Leadership Award for his contributions to the life sciences industry.
Global Reporting Initiative: The non-profit organization has named Eric Israel as director of GRI’s North American office. Prior to joining GRI, Israel was managing director of US Sustainable Business Solutions at PwC.
ENVIRON: The environmental, health, safety and sustainability consultancy has named toxicologists Martha Moore and Janice Yager to the firm.
Orrick, Herrington & Sutcliffe: The global law firm that focuses on energy and infrastructure, financial and technology sectors has named David L. Elkind as partner in its policyholder-side Insurance Practice Group in Washington D.C. Elkind was previously partner at Dickstein Shapiro.
Tau Investment Management: The growth-equity investment firm has named Jean Baderschneider and M. Osman Yousuf was operating partners. Baderschneider is a former vice president of global procurement at ExxonMobil and Yousuf is president and CEO of SYF Group.
R2 Solutions: The non-profit organization launched to house the R2 standard has named Garth Hickle to its board of directors. He is currently the chair of the Association of State and Territorial Solid Waste Management Officials Product Stewardship Task Force, a board member of the Electronics Recycling Coordination Clearinghouse and the product stewardship team leader with the Minnesota Pollution Control Agency.
LimeSpringsBeef: The beef processing facility has hired Michael Spinks as its general manager. Prior to joining the Iowa-based company, Spinks was the vice president of operations and sales for OMP Foods in Arkansas.
Heliocentris Energy Solutions: The distributed power technology company hired Thomas Strobl as chief financial officer. He will succeed Andras Gosztonyi who is leaving following the expiration of his five-year contract. Strobl previously worked as finance leader of the WABCO’s vehicle control system business unit.
Clean Air Power: The developer of dual-fuel engine management systems for heavy duty vehicles appointed Neill Skinner to the board as its chief financial officer. Skinner previously worked in strategy and corporate development roles at Speedy Hire plc.
CESTiCC: The Center for Environmentally Sustainable Transportation in Cold Climate, a consortium of three universities, led by the University of Alaska Fairbanks, has named Damon Fordham, a principal at consultancy firm The Cadmus Group to its advisory board.
