Spotlight on Award Winners: 3ESC
“Spotlight on Award Winners” is a series of articles featuring winners from the 2014 Environmental Leader Product & Project Awards. Look for the 2015 Awards call for submissions in early September.
3E, a company that provides environmental health and safety (EH&S) compliance and information management services, won a 2014 Top Product of the Year Award for its 3ESC web-based platform, which facilitates product compliance and mitigates supply chain risk.
3ESC serves as a central repository for critical product, supplier, and raw material risk information, including product contents, compliance status, country of origin, and georisk. The platform is fueled by content collected from upstream suppliers by 3E’s team of global obtainment specialists and enriched by 3E’s team of regulatory experts, the company says.
3ESC is built on 3E’s compliance solutions and its product and regulatory data. The platform leverages the data and functionality of the 3E Online-MSDS safety data sheet (SDS) management platform as well as the Ariel WebInsight online regulatory compliance tool. 3E’s SDS obtainment, classification, SAP EHS Management (EHSM), SDS authoring, and global regulatory support services further enhance the foundation of the new offering, the company says.
Connie Prostko-Bell, director of Supply Chain Compliance Solutions for 3E Company, says 3ESC helps companies better understand both existing and emerging obligations, supply chain risks, and market barriers and opportunities.
Earlier this year, 3E launched Ariel WebInsight 8.0, the latest version of its web-based chemical regulatory compliance reference tool. The tool features a new PCTEC Plus module, which offers customers access to a broad set of physical, chemical, toxicological, and eco-toxicological (PCTEC) data from close to 100 sources in a database and full-text format. Users can search the sources directly from the home page of the WebInsight application, allowing access to both regulatory and scientific data with a single search query. Users can also search PCTEC content in a separate full-text module that provides additional study details and documentation, the company says.
