Environmental Executive Moves: European Union, Natural Gas Vehicles for America, ClimeCo

Miguel Arias CañeteHere’s the latest news on hirings, promotions and departures among environmental leaders.

European Union: The EU government has confirmed Miguel Arias Cañete (pictured) as its new climate and energy commissioner. Cañete previously served as Member of the European Parliament for Madrid and as minister of agriculture, food and environment in the Spanish government.

Natural Gas Vehicles for America: The national trade association for natural gas vehicles has named Matthew Godlewski president. Godlewski previously served as vice president at Alliance of Automobile Manufacturers.

ClimeCo: The emission reduction credit project developer has expanded its environmental market brokerage platform. Mason Henderson will lead its private equity fund and brokerage team, Jaclyn Ferlita will help organizations navigate the emissions reporting requirements of California Assembly Bill 32, Nancy Sims will join the environmental services division, and Michael Busser has been named chief financial officer.

World Resources Institute: The global research organization has named Lawrence MacDonald as its vice president for communications. MacDonald previously served as vice president for communications and policy outreach for the Center for Global Development.

Camfil Air Pollution Control: The global manufacturer of dust, fume and mist collection equipment has appointed Alan O’Connell executive vice president in charge of worldwide operations. O’Connell previously served in a senior advisory capacity and as president and chief executive officer of the Camfil Group.

LNG America: The liquefied natural gas distributor has named Captain George “Joe” Paitl as vice president marine operations and HSSE compliance. Paitl most recently held the position of commanding officer and captain of the port, marine safety unit Port Arthur.
