Greenbuild logoSome 47 percent of building owners cut their healthcare costs for employees in facilities with green building features such as daylighting and natural air circulation, according to a study by McGraw Hill, the AIA, CBRE, US Green Building Council, United Technologies and a host of other partners, presented at Greenbuild on Thursday. Commercial Property Executive reports on the survey and says it also found 91 percent of HR executives reported greater worker productivity.

Autodesk debuted several sustainable design apps: three to help building teams cost-justify sustainability strategies and two that better integrate Building Performance Analysis (BPA) and Building Information Modeling (BIM) workflows for Autodesk Revit and Autodesk FormIt, a mobile conceptual design application, Metal Miner reports.

Hanley Wood launched Greenbuild University, a free, online learning platform designed to educate and train sustainable design professionals with best-in-class content focusing on LEED. Greenbuild University includes access to all educational content delivered during Greenbuild.

Earlier at Greenbuild, the 2014 Greenbuild LivingHome, a LEED Platinum net-zero home, showcased how cutting-edge sustainable building techniques can contribute to affordable housing. Additionally, the Harmonization Task Group, funded by Google and the USGBC, announced the development of common language, new technology and tools to increase designer, manufacturer and non-government organization collaboration to increase human health associated with built environment interaction.
