Environmental Executive Moves: Newalta, GBI, Nexant, Bosque Systems

Newalta: The provider of industrial waste management and environmental services’ board of directors has appointed John Barkhouse as president and chief executive officer. Barkhouse most recently served as president of Bredero Shaw.

Green Building Initiative: The green building practices nonprofit has named Kateri Callahan and Richard Mitchell to its board of directors. Callahan is president of the Alliance to Save Energy and Mitchell is president and managing principal at Mackenzie.

Nexant: The electric power grid software and alternative energy technologies provider has named Peter Noland as vice president of business development for utility services. Noland previously served as senior director at CLEAResult.

Bosque Systems: The independent water management company has named Walter Dale (pictured) as executive director of solutions business development. Dale previously served as general manager in the Canadian oil sands for GE Water and Process.

Nutrinsic: The environmentally sustainable commercial nutrition provider has named David Holland as vice president of operations and Chris Wilcox as vice president of sales and business development. Holland previously served as general manager of Certified Foods, and Wilcox headed business and corporate development efforts for several industrial biotechnology companies.

GEI Consultants: The environmental and engineering consulting firm has named William H. Lynch as a water resources practice leader. Lynch previously served as principal-in-charge and/or engineer-of-record for the South Florida Water Management District.

Burns & McDonnell: The engineering firm has hired Joseph Grennan to serve as a project manager in their environmental studies & permitting group in their New England office, as reported by altenergymag.com. Grennan previously served as director of permitting with a focus on renewable energy projects at RES Americas.

International Living Future Institute: The environmental NGO has named Bob Berkebile as a senior strategic advisor. Berkebile will continue to work with BNIM, where he is a principal, and with Sustainable Development Partners, his development company.

American Wood Council: The wood industry trade group has increased its field staff to support its building codes and standards activities, naming David P. Tyree as Central regional manager and Jim Smith as Midwest regional manager. Tyree has over 35 years of experience in the development, administration, enforcement and adoption of building codes. Smith previously served as chief building official and zoning administrator for the city of Waukesha, Wisconsin.
