Environmental Executive Moves: Green Building Council, Nuverra, WRI, BioAmber
UK Green Building Council: The green building nonprofit has appointed Julie Hirigoyen (pictured) as its new chief executive. Hirigoyen is currently UK head of sustainability for international property consultants JLL.
Nuverra Environmental Solutions: The environmental services company has appointed Greg Heinlein as executive vice president and chief financial officer. Prior to joining Nuverra, Heinlein served as senior vice president and chief financial officer of ION Geophysical, an oil and gas industry technology provider.
BioAmber: The industrial biotechnology company producing sustainable chemicals announced that chief financial officer Andrew Ashworth has retired and Francois Laurin has been hired to succeed Ashworth as CFO. BioAmberâ€™s long-time board member Denis Lucquin had also resigned.
World Resources Institute: The global research organizations has appointed former mayor of Portland, Oregon, Sam Adams as the new director of its US Climate Initiative.
Geothermal Resources Council: The board of directors for the global association for the geothermal energy industry has elected Paul Brophy to be the next president of the Geothermal Resources Council. He replaces Louis E. Capuano, Jr., who remains on the board of directors as past president.
Marine Stewardship Council: The sustainable seafood market organization has appointed Brian Perkins, a former commercial fisherman and international seafood trade show executive, as regional director Americas.
Gold Standard Foundation: The climate and sustainable development nonprofit has appointed Marion Verles as CEO, effective Feb. 1. Marion is the previous founder and executive director of Nexus Carbon for Development. Marion succeeds Adrian Rimmer, who has served as CEO since June 2010.
Go Green Global Technologies: The water and fuel technology company has appointed Paul J. Cavise, Jr. to its board of directors. Cavise has held senior level positions at Goldman, Sachs & Co., UBS Financial Services and the AIG Advisor Group.
