Additionally, the WaterSavr technology is safe and did not cause any concerns with water quality, the report states.

Flexible Solutions International says that by using WaterSavr on a typical 10,000 acres of reservoir during the high evaporation months could save 6,750 acre feet of water or more. The company says its calculations show the cost to buy and spread WaterSavr on a large reservoir over the evaporative season is less than $180 per acre-foot of water conserved.

In 2013, Flexible Solutions International said its WaterSavr product reduced evaporation by an average of 31% during a trial on Lake Sahara in Las Vegas (shown).

The Southern Nevada Water Authority conducted the four-month trial, which included more than 1,500 readings of water quality in the categories of dissolved oxygen, pH, calcium and suspended solids. There was no water quality difference compared to 10 years of historic data, Flexible Solutions International said.
