Suez Environnement Wins $95M Wastewater Treatment Contract

Suez EnvironmentSuez Environnement has won a €84 million ($95 million) contract to operate and maintain two wastewater treatment plants at Gabal El Asfar in Cairo, Egypt.

This contract was won in consortium with three Egyptian companies: DHCU, ARCOM and ICAT.

Cabal El Asfar is the biggest wastewater treatment facility on the east bank of the Nile. It has a processing capacity of more than 1,400,000 cubic meters a day, including a cogeneration plant fueled by anaerobic sludge digestion that produces up to 65 percent of the powered needed to run the facility.
