PE International Rebrands as Thinkstep, Launches Environmental Management, Compliance Platform
PE International yesterday announced its new name, thinkstep, and an enterprise technology platform, thinkstep.one, that the company says will make it easier for companies to manage environmental, energy, compliance and sustainability issues across the business and supply chain.
The corporate website, www.thinkstep.com also launched yesterday.
Christoph Wilfert, thinkstep CEO, says the company’s rebranding and thinkstep.one reflect the embedding of sustainability into corporations. “Sustainability is a part of companies’ decision making,” he tells Environmental Leader. “It’s no longer a side show but really a core of the business.”
To this end, thinkstep.one will help enterprises achieve sustainability results that increase sales, reduce costs and mitigate risk, he says.
Leveraging cloud technologies, thinkstep.one comprises the thinkstep.one data foundation and more than 70 software applications, supported by thinkstep professional services. Application suites are available for product design and innovation, product reporting, compliance, life cycle assessment, corporate sustainability reporting, EH&S management, energy management, supplier engagement and building portfolio management. One centralized console provides visibility and management across an entire business and supply chain.
Wilfert says to think of it as an app store. “With so many different scenarios, CDP reporting or GRI reporting, or sustainable materials or supply chain, every company has a multitude of applications used by those key roles. You really need to create an app store to say, ‘Which ones do you need, Mr. resource manager or Ms. energy manager?’”
Thinkstep.one is currently in beta and will ship in the third quarter of 2015. For existing customers, the company says there is a simple migration path onto the new platform.
With its rebranding, the company says its new corporate identity, including its logo, a globe that features continually changing color bars, “reflects the ever-evolving knowledge that is critical for sustainable business success.”
Thinkstep.one launches with the support of sustainability, compliance and technology companies including: Trucost, 2Degrees, TÜV, ILF, Atmosfair, Siemens, Pera Technology, Outotec and Urjanet.
