Spotlight on Award Winners: CRedit360 Simplifies Regulatory Reporting, Risk Management

As companies look to integrate their reporting EHS reporting with reporting in other areas such as sustainability, they are seeking to move away from “clunky, difficult to operate systems to more nimble, flexible and easy to use software that makes it simple to collect and analyze information to drive regulatory reporting and risk management,” says Richard Kirby, CEO of Product for CRedit360.
CRedit360’s sustainability software, winner of a 2015 Environmental Leader Top Product of the Year Award, helps companies deliver on their sustainability goals by allowing them to manage sustainability and EHS information, improve data quality, ensure compliance, enable accurate reporting, and drive performance, the company says. The software solutions allow companies to gather information across global operations – from other technologies platforms such as smart meters – and track and share progress against targets, which can lead to reductions in operational costs. With access to accurate data on energy consumption, efficiency improvements can be made.
For example, the Nestle food company was using an in-house system to manage SH&E data. When introducing any major change or new project, the company’s SH&E team had to direct its enquiries back to the original system developer. The team wanted to find a unified solution that would give them greater flexibility and control over their non-financial reporting, and ultimately enable them to make progress on fulfilling their goals around sustainability, energy and water use, emissions and employee safety and health.
The CRedit360 team configured and deployed the system, including migrating five years of Nestlé’s SH&E data – across hundreds of KPIs at the facility level – in just six months. Nestlé began using the CRedit360 solution exclusively to report on its SH&E performance in early 2013. Now, the system allows users at 1,400 facilities in 100 countries to log safety and health incidents, review incident data and report to country specific standards, including OSHA. More than 2,000 employees in almost 500 manufacturing facilities use the system to capture energy, waste and water indicators on a monthly basis, in line with rigorous annual targets. The flexibility and scalability of the system have enabled Nestlé to build new reporting modules independently, without needing CRedit360’s support. For example, the company is scaling its data management activities to gain further insight into important areas such as driver safety and safety and health leading indicators, as it adopts an increasingly proactive stance on preventing incidents. The company is now using the system to capture data relating to how safely employees are driving (particularly those working in its logistics and sales operations), and to preventive measures tackling safety and health risks before they materialize into incidents.
One Environmental Leader Product & Project Awards judge called CRedit360 software a “comprehensive EHS/Sustainability management solution… reporting/analytics, configurability, visualizations, and comparative ease-of-use all have the potential to add business value.”
