Environmental Executive Moves: Alta, Xylem, LanzaTech, Summit, Amyris

Alta Environmental: The consulting firm has promoted Nicolas Serieys (pictured), an Alta employee since 2013, to the position of vice president. He was formerly director of environmental health and safety.

Xylem: The water technology company has hired Jayanthi (Jay) Iyengar to the newly created position of senior vice president and chief innovation and technology officer. Iyengar joins Xylem from Eaton, where she most recently served as group vice president, engineering and technology for the company’s Aerospace Group, and chief technology officer.

LanzaTech: The carbon recycling company has appointed Jean Paul Michel, formerly global chief operating officer and group head of operations at OSRAM, as executive vice president, strategy, finance and operations.

Summit Midstream Partners: The partnership, which provides natural gas, crude oil and produced water gathering services, announced that Zachary “Zak” Covar, former commissioner of the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality, has joined the company as vice president in charge of Summit’s health, safety, environmental and regulatory affairs.

Amyris: The industrial bioscience company has appointed Caroline Hadfield as senior vice president personal care and Cynthia “Cindy” Bryant as senior vice president corporate development & collaborations. Hadfield has served as global product director for Bodyshop International. Prior to joining Amyris, Bryant served as senior director marketing and business development for Novozymes.

RegScan: The compliance management company has appointed Paul Wrench as director of sales. Prior to joining RegScan Wrench held senior executive sales roles at Locus Technologies, Enviance and IHS.

T&M Associates: The engineering consulting firm specializing in development, energy, environmental and transportation services has hired Donald J. Birnesser as solid waste group manager.

Southern Research: The nonprofit has named William Grieco, Ph.D., vice president of the research institute’s Energy & Environment division, which works on behalf of the US Department of Energy, the EPA, the US Department of Defense, electric power utilities, oil and gas companies, and firms focused on transportation, alternative fuels, and waste management. Grieco joins Southern Research from Owens Corning where he was director of innovation for a 70-person science and technology team that developed energy-efficient building materials.

Impact Products: The manufacturer of non-chemical commercial cleaning, maintenance and related products has promoted Todd R. Frendt to vice president, operations. Frendt’s previous position at Impact Products was director of quality.

Fuel Freedom Foundation: The natural gas advocacy group announced John Hofmeister, former Shell Oil president and FFF Advisory Board member has expanded his role as a member of the board of directors.
