InnovyzeSmart water and wastewater infrastructure technology developer Innovyze has added automated data import from WinCan software to InfoMaster, its GIS-centric analytical asset management software.

Innovyze says this advances decision analytics for wastewater utilities; this data exchange leverages the strengths of both technologies to bring combined modeling-oriented and collection-oriented prioritization to users, helping them optimize enterprise sewer asset management.

By using InfoMaster and WinCan VX in concert, wastewater utilities can complete and document inspection of their sewer assets, evaluate their condition and performance, determine when they should be repaired or replaced, and identify the most cost-effective way to maintain them well into the future, says Mike Russin, business manager for Pipeline Analytics, the WinCan Subsidiary for North and South America.

InfoMaster uses mathematical models to predict when a water or sewer pipe will fail, helping utilities determine the most cost-effective solution for avoiding or correcting the problem. In this way, users can ensure the best distribution of dollars spent on replacement and repair of underground pipes.

This “fix before break” approach can help utilities extend the useful life of their assets and improve their performance at maximum savings.

WinCan VX, a comprehensive software for inspection and management of sewer networks, offers the core functionality utilities need to collect, organize, analyze, securely publish and share pipe inspection data and generate inspection reports using standard or user-defined templates. The software’s measurement tools help quantify defects, and sophisticated search capabilities filter observations by any combination of criteria, enabling sewer asset managers to create a sound, fact-based foundation for informed and defensible maintenance decisions.
