Environmental Executive Moves: Ten K Solar, Novelis, thinkstep, Axion Polymers, NREL

Ten K Solar: The commercial rooftop solar technology has appointed Jeffrey J. Hohn (pictured) as chief executive officer. Hohn, who formerly served as VP and general manager of 3M’s Renewable Energy Division, will succeed Joel Cannon, a co-founder of Ten K Solar.

Novelis: The aluminum recycling company has made several leadership changes with the most recent being the appointment of Devinder Ahuja as senior vice president, chief financial officer. Prior to joining Novelis, Ahuja served as chief financial officer of Alcon US, a subsidiary of the global healthcare company Novartis. Novelis has also appointed Sachin Satpute to the position of senior vice president, Novelis Inc. and president, Novelis Asia. Satpute previously served as chief marketing officer, Hindalco Industries Limited. Additionally Michael Hahne, who previously served as vice president and general manager can in Novelis Europe, has assumed the position of vice president and general manager automotive in Novelis Europe. Hahne succeeds Pierre Labat, who has been appointed as vice president, sales and marketing global automotive. And Marcus Becker, previously director of metal planning and sourcing at Novelis Europe, will succeed Hahne as the new vice president and general manager can value stream in Europe.

Thinkstep: The sustainability software and services provider has appointed Rosemary Lapka as director of the consumer goods sector for North America and Nuno da Silva to the position of director of product stewardship. Lapka most recently managed sustainable natural resource and product health programs for the grocery retailer Aldi in the US. Nuno was previously the managing director of PE International American operations.

Renewable Power Direct: The renewable power company has hired Mark Mancino as vice president sales and Michael Adcock as vice president supply. Mancino’s previous employers include Lone Star Gas, TXU Energy, Liberty Power, World Energy and Viridity Energy. Adcock previously worked for the US Air Force, Ormet Aluminum, Columbia Energy, Commerce Energy, Eurus Energy, GAMESA and Viridity Energy.

Axion Polymers: The recycling company has appointed Laura Smith as commercial operations manager at its plastics processing site in Salford following the departure of Steve Bell after 15 years with the company. Smith has been working in commercial and sales roles at Axion.

National Renewable Energy Laboratory: The US Energy Department’s laboratory for renewable energy and energy efficiency research and development has named Peter Green as the deputy laboratory director for science and technology and Julie Baker as associate laboratory director for facilities and operations. Green comes to NREL from the University of Michigan College of Engineering where he is a professor. Baker joins NREL from the Idaho National Laboratory where she was the director of business at the Materials and Fuels Complex.

Great American Insurance Group: The insurance group has hired Sara C. Brothers as divisional vice president — underwriting within its Environmental Division. Prior to joining Great American, Brothers was a senior vice president for Trihydro Corporation.
