Ford: The automaker has hired Rajendra “Raj” Rao (pictured) as CEO of Ford Smart Mobility, Ford’s mobility services business unit. Rao most recently serves as vice president of digital business model innovation at 3M.

Axion Recycling: The recycling firm’s principal engineer Simon Wilkinson has passed away after battling cancer.

Carbon Clean Solutions: The CO2 separation technology company has hired Will Shimer as general manager, North America & Middle East. Shimer joins CCSL from Honeywell UOP, where he was director of strategic marketing for gas processing and hydrogen.

Gaelectric: The renewable energy group has promoted Barry Gavin to CEO, effective Oct. 1. Gavin is currently Gaelectric’s chief operating officer.

International Integrated Reporting Council: The global corporate reporting organization has appointed Louise Davidson, CEO of the Australian Council of Superannuation Investors, to its Board of Directors.

Resource Recycling Systems: The sustainability and recycling consultancy has announced RRS senior consultant Kris Kaar has been elected president for the Illinois Recycling Association.

American Council for an Energy-Efficient Economy: The energy-efficiency advocacy organization has appointed Mandy Mahoney, president of the Southeast Energy Efficiency Alliance, and David Parekh, vice president, research and director of United Technologies Research Center, to ACEEE’s board of directors.

University of Bristol: The UK university has appointed Ervin Bossanyi, senior principal researcher renewables at DNV GL, as visiting industrial professor within the University’s Department of Aerospace Engineering.

Water for Food Global Institute: The University of Nebraska initiative that addresses global water challenges has hired Peter G. McCornick as the Institute’s executive director. McCornick most recently served as deputy director general for research at the International Water Management Institute in Colombo, Sri Lanka.
