Acquisitions: S&P Dow Jones Indices, Trucost, RES, Angler Environmental, ATC, Environmental Compliance Services
S&P Dow Jones Indices has acquired a controlling stake in Trucost, which provides carbon and environmental data and risk analysis. The companies did not disclose financial details of the deal.
S&P Dow Jones Indices said the acquisition will help it satisfy the growing market for environmental data and portfolio carbon footprinting.
“The demand for ESG data and indices is growing,” said Alex Matturri, CEO of S&P Dow Jones Indices, in a statement. “The complementary nature of our two businesses allows us to combine Trucost’s industry leading environmental impact data and risk metrics with our global footprint and world-class benchmarking capabilities to develop new ESG solutions.”
Resource Environmental Solutions has acquired Angler Environmental, which also provides water resource and green infrastructure management services. The companies did not disclose financial details but said the acquisition will help customers develop “ecological solutions for wetlands, streams, species and water quality that facilitate project permitting, enable compliance and address enforcement needs.” Angler Environmental will now be doing business as “Angler Environmental, a RES company” during a transitional integration period.
Environmental consulting firm ATC Group Services has agreed to acquire Environmental Compliance Services, which provides environmental consulting, site remediation and regulatory compliance services. Terms of the transaction were not disclosed.
ATC’s agreement to acquire ECS follows its recent purchase of Dexter Field Services, which provides leak detection and repair, monitoring and other specialized technical environmental services, along with Sage Environmental Consulting, which focuses on air quality control and consulting, due diligence and emission-reduction credit services.
