GE, NGC to Jointly Develop Wind Turbine Gearbox

GE Energy and China’s Nanjing High Speed & Accurate Gear Company announced that they’ve signed an agreement to jointly develop gearboxes for GE’s 1.5-megawatt wind turbines.  The agreement makes NGC one of GE’s leading component suppliers in the wind energy business.  The gearbox is a critical component of the GE 1.5-megawatt wind turbine. Nearly 5,000 of these turbines  have been installed or committed for projects worldwide.
