Dell is planning new environmental targets designed to reduce the company’s footprint over the next five years, Green Business News reports. The targets would include raising customer awareness of environmental issues, improving the energy efficiency of products, and the use of renewable energy technologies at Dell manufacturing sites.
The new environmental goals will be part of its annual sustainability report, which will be released in the next few months to accompany Dell’s annual report.
Dell also plans to roll out its Plant a Tree for Me service in the UK in April, according to Lena Pripp-Kovac, head of corporate responsibility and sustainability for Dell in EMEA. Pripp-Kovac told GBN that Dell is currently looking for a local environmental management partner to run a reforestation scheme in the UK similar to those schemes underway in the U.S.
