Alcan has joined the U.S. Climate Action Partnership, the coalition of companies and NGOs calling on the government to enact national legislation to reduce greenhouse gas emissions. Dick Evans, President and CEO of Alcan will also serve on USCAP’s Executive Board.
This is USCAP’s fourth big addition this month. AIG, ConocoPhillips, and Dow Chemical also joined the partnership.
Alcan recently announced a commitment for a 10 percent reduction in direct C02 equivalent emissions intensity from 2006 to 2010. Itwas also named one of Fortune magazines Top 10 green giants.
