Environmental Groups, including The Center for Health, Environment and Justice and the Florida Alliance for Healthy Indoor Environments, has begun a campaign to persuade The Walt Disney Co. to use only environmentally safe cleaning products at its Walt Disney World theme parks, restaurants and hotels near Orlando, Florida Today reports.
Walt Disney World spokeswoman Jacquee Polak said she believes all the cleaning products and methods Disney uses are safe, and that the company is in compliance with all local, state and national environmental regulations, noting that some of the products it now uses are “certified green.”
“We want Disney to go 100 percent green,” Center for Health, Environment and Justice spokeswoman Stacey Gonzalez said. “They’re using green products at Animal Kingdom to protect the animals. They should also protect the children. They already have three hotels where they use green products. They need to expand it to their other theme parks.”
