Ford, McDonald’s, IBM, Abbott, Time Inc. To Share Sustainability Strategies

With new sustainability initiatives being launched daily, U.S. companies are under increasing pressure to demonstrate their climate change credentials. Corporate Climate Response, a newly announced conference, is pulling together corporate sustainability leaders to talk about what works and what doesn’t when it comes to responding to global warming.

Big names like Ford, Wal-Mart, McDonald’s, Time Inc., Walgreens, Dow, Anheuser-Busch, Kimberly Clark, PG&E, BP and Abbott are among those speaking at Corporate Climate Response, which takes place September 25 & 26 at the Courtyard Marriott Downtown in Chicago. Environmental Leader is a supporting organization for this event.

This is the only conference that will address all the fundamentals of corporate climate change strategy in detail, according to CCR. Topics to be covered include carbon footprint and life-cycle analysis, energy efficiency, waste management, fleet management, green power and RECs, carbon offsetting and emissions trading, climate adaptation and engaging consumers and the public on climate change directly.

“Attendees will walk away with concrete advice on how to implement their own climate change strategies and how to profit from sustainability initiatives,” says Adrienne Baker, producer of Corporate Climate Response. Upcoming state and federal action will be also examined with a focus on how regulation will eventually impact US businesses.
