Prairie Hills Motorsport Club, located in Lake Village, Indiana and scheduled to open in the spring of 2009, is using a grey water geothermal system from Encore Energy for heating and cooling. Upon completion, the entire complex will be spread over 872 acres of Northwest Indiana prairie. It’s the longest track in the Western Hemisphere, according to a press release.
Encore Energy says that benefits of the grey water system will be realized immediately through reduced cost and time of installation because the system does not require drilling deep bore well fields or trenching
Further incentives include savings on energy bills of up to 70 percent versus traditional air source A/C units, according to Encore.
“Everything about Prairie Hills Motorsport Club is state-of-the-art,” said Michael Krupka, CEO of Prairie Hill Motorsport Club. “That includes the track, the facility, and the Encore Energy Systems geothermal technology that will provide comfort in heating and cooling for our staff, members, and guests.”
