Toshiba Launches Plant A Tree Program

Toshiba is promoting a new Carbon Zero Scheme in the UK, which lets customers donate $2.43 in exchange for Toshiba offsetting the lifetime carbon footprint of their laptop, engadget reports. You don’t have to purchase a new machine in order to participate. For each donation, the company will plant trees in a dedicated area in Cumbria. co2balance is managing Toshiba’s program.

Dell launched its Plant a Tree for Me program in January.In that program, The Conservation Fund and Carbonfund.org plant trees in sustainably managed forests. The company said that 100 percent of the donations received by the Plant a Tree for Me program will be used by partners to facilitate planting trees. Dell charges $2 for a laptop.
