Mitsubishi CEO Takes On Role Of Chief Sustainability Officer

Mitsubishi has announced that President and CEO, Ryoichi Ueda, has also been appointed as Chief Sustainability Officer for the company’s North American operations. According to the press release, the move signals the rise in importance of environmental considerations within the company.

Since Ueda became President and CEO in 2006, the company has embarked on a plan to reduce its CO2 emissions. Last year, Mitsubishi Heavy Industries spent $6 million to install solar power generators, a move which helped land it on one list of the world’s most sustainable corporations.
