Toyota Gives Audubon $20M Grant

together_green.jpgEarth Day must be approaching because a lot of big brands are announcing major initiatives with conservation and other nonprofit organizations. This week alone, Home Depot pledged $30 million to Habitat For Humanity for sustainable building and Macy’s partnered up with the National Park Foundation.

The latest news is that Toyota is giving a $20 million grant to the Audubon society in order to fund TogetherGreen for five years.

The money will fund land, water and energy conservation projects each year and also be used to train environmental leaders.

Toyota says that it plans to get its 36,000 U.S. employees involved and also invite its business partners to lend a hand.

TogetherGreen has a new site which will fully launch this Spring.

Last week, Toyota announced a partnership with the Arbor Day Foundation to create a Facebook application called Tree Planter.
