Eastman Kodak announced that it has reduced its greenhouse gas emissions by 28 percent, reduced its total energy use by 30 percent since 2002, and has recycled, reused or refurbished 42 million pounds of waste.
In its “operational responsibility” category, the company said it closed a 67-MW power plant in Rochester, N.Y., due to successful energy efficiency programs and site transformation, earning the U.S. Department of Energy’s “Energy Champion Award,” the highest award for energy efficiency for industrial facilities.
Kodak’s goals were established two years ago after the company surpassed all of its existing manufacturing-focused health, safety and environmental improvement goals.
Kodak was recently listed on Corporate Knights’ Lists 100 Most Sustainable Companies.
