Maintaining Product Quality Alongside Environmental Performance

In response to consumer demand for low priced innovative products that meet environmental compliance standards, manufacturers are finding ways to balance restrictions with product quality, Industry Week reports.

Failure to abide by increasing environmental standards can mean fines, market share losses, trade restrictions, liability issues and even criminal charges.

But while most manufacturers are finding ways to meet increasing regulations, focusing too much on them can result in decreased quality, which is resulting in more testing throughout the supply chain.

Many are turning to test data including quality data obtained from component manufacturers, information from Automated Optical Inspection, XRay and In-Circuit Testing, functional test data, final system testing data, and post-sales support and repair center operations data.
