Jarvis Latest Winery To Install Solar Power

jarvis.jpgJarvis Winery has installed a solar electric system that will generate approximately 155,000 kilowatt-hours of electricity annually.

Jarvis Winery will be producing as much energy as it uses, and will have a net zero utility bill. It will take approximately seven years to pay for itself.

The 107 DC kW system is comprised of 520 SunPower SPR-205 panels, one Xantrex GT100 inverter, and balance of system components including disconnects and mounting hardware for a ground mount on the winery premises.

Real Goods Solar designed, engineered and installed the system.

In May, Far Niente winery installed nearly 1,000 photovoltaic panels mounted on 130 pontoons floating in an irrigation pond, and another 306 panels mounted on a nearby acre of land, that can produce up to 477 kilowatts per hour at peak output.

Other Californian wineries utilizing solar energy include Grgich Hills and Foster’s Wine Estates.
